With nearly four decades of life experience, two decades in work and business, and years as a husband and father, I’ve learned lessons that only time can reveal. This book is my way of sharing that knowledge with you, so you can avoid regrets and live a life full of purpose.
Why I Wrote This Book
I was once a young adult with big dreams, relentless ambition, and a drive for success—but also with a lot of naivety. Back then, I’d make decisions on impulse. I’d get an idea, dive in without much thought, and often judge people and situations based on first impressions alone. I wanted to be in control, but I wasn’t equipped with the right tools.
It didn’t take long for the consequences to catch up with me. I began questioning my choices, wondering if I was the only one facing a series of regrets. To my surprise, when I spoke to friends, family, and colleagues, I realized I wasn’t alone. Many had made decisions without fully thinking them through, trusted the wrong people, or chased dreams that weren’t their own. Instead, they had been sold an idea by society, family, or peer pressure.
Today, I see many young adults repeating this same cycle. According to a 2024 publication by Dateline Health Africa, young people are increasingly influenced in ways that often lead to risky behaviors and poor decision-making.
This book is my response—a call to action for young adults to pause, reflect, and make more intentional choices. Here’s what I discovered through my journey:
